Adobe Air, Oracle Integration

Hi All, I've been looking all over the web and have been unable to find a definitive answer on this one.

I have a client that needs to get some data directly from an oracle server on which the air app will be running. I realize AIR has it's own built in sqllite integration, but can AIR call an oracle DB directly?
