Change screen resolution?

Is there a way to change the screen resolution of a system with AIR? I'm working on a photo slideshow that needs to look good at both 1024x768 and 1600 x1200. If I use photos that look good at 1024x768, they pixelate at 1600x1200. But if I use larger photos and scaleX and scaleY to reduce them, they look better at the higher resolution, but the image distorts just enough to look bad.

So I was thinking about the option of changing the screen resolution of a users computer if they maximize the window...

Any ideas?
